Charles S. Brodsky, M.D.

Dr. Brodsky was raised and educated in New York. After attending Vassar College, he went to medical school at the State University of New York’s Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He moved to Dallas in 1992, where he completed his OB/GYN residency at Baylor University Medical Center in 1996. Dr. Brodsky has been with Women’s Health Alliance ever since starting his practice.

Chuck has received numerous awards, both for medical education and for peer recognition. He is a former president of the Dallas-Fort Worth OB/GYN Society, and has been continuously board certified since 1998. His previous memberships include the AMA, TMA, Dallas County Medical Society and AAGL. He is currently a Diplomat of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Brodsky’s professional interests include abnormal Pap smear management, treatment for abnormal bleeding and uterine abnormalities, menopausal medicine, both low-risk and high-risk obstetrics, and minimally-invasive surgery.

Dr. Brodsky has been recognized as one of D-Magazine’s Best Doctors, and has received numerous “Super Doctor” designations from Texas Monthly Magazine.

Chuck is married to Dr. Greta Brodsky, an internist at North Texas Preferred Health Partners. They have three beautiful, ridiculously busy children, a dog with a licking problem and a kitty that just prefers to be left alone.

Mary C. Plank, M.D.

Dr. Plank graduated from Creighton University Summa Cum Laude. She then earned her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and graduated with honors. She went on to complete her internship and residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. In residency she was presented the Strother award for top testing scores, the Joseph Warren award for excellence, leadership and balance and the research award for evaluation of very low weight infants. She has also won the American Professors of Obstetric and Gynecology award for training residents in OB/GYN. She is board certified in Obstetric and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Dallas Medical Society.

Dr. Plank has special interest in routine and high-risk obstetrics, abnormal pap smear evaluations, contraception, annual exams, abnormal uterine bleeding, menopause and gynecology surgery.

She is skilled in performing in office procedures including endometrial ablations, hysteroscopy, sterilization procedures including the Essure device, colposcopy to evaluate abnormal pap smears and Leep/Cone biopsy for treatment of abnormal pap smears.

Dr. Plank is married with 2 beautiful children. She loves to exercise and is an avid sports fan. She supports her Creighton Bluejays and Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Lori C. Romberg, M.D.

Dr. Romberg grew up in the suburbs of San Diego, CA. She earned her bachelor’s degree with summa cum laude honors from the University of California at San Diego. She attended both graduate and medical school at UT Southwestern, where she earned both her master’s degree in genetics and her medical degree. She then went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in June 2005. She joined the excellent physicians at Women’s Health Alliance in August 2005.

Dr. Romberg has been board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2007. She earned numerous awards throughout her education including the DFW OB/GYN society award for outstanding medical student and the W.K. Strother award for excellence in clinical and academic achievement during residency. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and belongs to the AMA, TMA, and the Dallas County Medical Society.

Dr. Romberg cares for women through all stages of life, from the teenage years through childbearing and midlife into menopause. She enjoys delivering babies, both routine and high-risk pregnancies. She is skilled at performing in-office procedures including endometrial ablations, hysteroscopy, sterilization by tubal occlusion (Essure), colposcopy to evaluate abnormal Pap smears, LEEP for treatment of cervical dysplasia, and placement of long-term reversible contraceptives like IUDs and implants (such as Mirena, Paragard, Nexplanon). She is also skilled at procedures such as hysterectomy and laparoscopy. Away from her practice she enjoys spending time with her husband and four kids, reading, being active in her church community & step-family ministry, attending her kids’ activities, and attending the theater.

Rachel L. Kurian, M.D.

Dr. Kurian grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then graduated from Texas A&M University College of Medicine with honors, and completed her residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. At Vanderbilt, Dr. Kurian was elected as chief resident, and was voted one of 2004 Berlex Laboratories Best Second year Teaching Residents. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, completed in December 2008. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society. She holds a faculty position at Baylor in the residency program, taking an active role in residency training and education. Dr. Kurian has a special interest in routine and high-risk obstetrics, annual gynecologic exams, abnormal Pap smear evaluations, contraception, and gynecologic surgery. She is certified to perform many in-office procedures, including Essure hysteroscopic tubal ligations, endometrial ablations, and excision procedures for cervical dysplasia. She and her husband are the proud parents to two boys, Noah and Lucas.

Shannon E. McCants, M.D.

Dr. McCants grew up in Kansas City, and then came to Texas for all of her schooling. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She then went across the DFW metroplex to the University of Texas at Southwestern for Medical School. She then began her career at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas as a resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology.

She is board certified for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, She is on the faculty for the resident training program at Baylor University Medical Center, and is committed to education of doctor’s in training. She has many awards under her belt from medical school and residency. She is a member of AMA, TMA, Dallas County Medical Society, and a Junior Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

She is proficient in many procedures including office procedures, such as essure, endometrial ablation, and LEEPs, as well as hospital surgeries including advanced laparoscopy, vaginal surgery and urogynecologic procedures. She enjoys contraception counseling and management, basic infertility, and management of abnormal pap smears. She is excited to tackle new pregnancies, both uncomplicated and high risk. In her spare time away from work she adores spending time with her husband and 2 sons.

Sandra Z. Brothers, M.D.

Dr. Brothers grew up in Bend, Oregon, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. She earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences and Biology from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. At graduation, she was commissioned as an Air Force Officer, and was assigned to the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, TX. After performing medical research for 5 years, she resigned her commission as Captain in the U.S. Air Force and moved to Dallas to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Brothers completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She was enamored by the environment of “evidence-based medicine,” teaching, and patient-friendly continuity of care in private practice, so she chose to pursue private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Brothers has been in private practice for nearly twenty years, providing women of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds with choices and guidance through all their gynecologic needs. Dr. Brothers prides herself with the ability to walk a patient through treatment options based upon her individuality, from contraceptives for an athlete or an executive, to alternative birthing experiences for women who desire minimal intervention, to management of heavy menstrual cycles. She has assisted many women with infertility issues to achieve the pregnancy they desired. Dr. Brothers is honest, ethical, and genuinely caring.

Dr. Brothers lives in Old East Dallas with her husband, Dr. Michael Holub, in a very old house. They spend the majority of their free time trying to keep up with their five children & one grandchild and their various activities; from Boy Scouts and football, to occasional High-Adventure trips including hiking in Big Bend, and Cycle Oregon.

Joy S. Peveto, M.D.

Dr. Peveto is a Dallas area native, born and raised in Irving, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude. She returned to the DFW metroplex and received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After graduation, she ventured across town for her residency physician training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the faculty for the obstetrics and gynecology residency training program at Baylor University Medical Center and an assistant Clinical Professor for Texas A&M University Medical School, and is dedicated to physician education. She has accrued many accomplishments and awards throughout her medical school and residency training. She is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the Southwest Gynecology Assembly, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, and American Medical Association.

Dr. Peveto is passionate about women’s health throughout all phases of a patient’s life, from puberty to menopause. She is a skilled minimally invasive surgeon, both in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. She is proficient in many procedures, including in-office procedures such as endometrial ablations, permanent sterilization, and management of abnormal pap smears. Her surgical skill includes hysterectomy, advanced laparoscopy, and vaginal surgery. She has a passion for patient education, and enjoys treating patients’ gynecological needs, from contraception counseling and management to well-women exams and basic infertility. She enjoys caring for pregnant patients, and is excited to manage both uncomplicated and high-risk pregnancies. In her spare time, she is an avid reader and sports fan, and loves spending time with her husband, two daughters, large extended family and friends.

Ashley W. Tovo, M.D.

Dr. Ashley Tovo was raised in Charleston, West Virginia. She attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia where she graduated with honors. Dr. Tovo went on to study medicine at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. She and her husband moved to Dallas where she completed her residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. During her training, Dr. Tovo received numerous accolades including the outstanding resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Southern Gynecologic Assembly and the Joseph Warren award for resident excellence.

Dr. Tovo is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has a passion for women’s health. She offers a full range of services in her field from primary care to specialized gynecologic and obstetric services. She has a special interest in minimally invasive pelvic surgery. Dr. Tovo lives in Dallas with her husband and they are the proud parents of two girls. Outside of the office, she enjoys running, travelling, skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Hillary E. Myears, M.D.

Dr. Myears was raised in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri summa cum laude and then moved to Dallas to attend UT Southwestern for medical school. She stayed in Dallas for residency at Parkland Hospital, one of the highest volume obstetric hospitals in the nation. She served as chief resident and won several teaching awards from the medical students and residents. Dr. Myears loves making personal connections with her patients and looks forward to taking care of women throughout all stages of life, from contraceptive counseling to pregnancy to the menopausal transition. She has a special interest in adolescent contraceptive management, both high and low risk pregnancies, and management of abnormal bleeding. She performs in office procedures such as hysteroscopy and LEEP, as well as advanced laparoscopy and robotic procedures. In her free time, she enjoys running, traveling, skiing, cooking, and spending time with her wonderful husband.

Elizabeth A. Newsom, M.D.

Dr. Newsom grew up in Southlake, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University then returned to Texas to attend UT Southwestern Medical School. She remained in Dallas to complete her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Hospital.

She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, and a Fellow the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Newsom loves caring for women through all of the stages of womanhood. “There is no doctor who is as intimately involved with your life as your OBGYN, whether you are seeing her for an annual exam and birth control, pregnancy and the amazing life event of having a baby, or for assistance through the menopausal transition. The long lasting relationships we have with our patients are why I chose this field, and I am so excited for the privilege to care for the women of Dallas.”

Dr. Newsom’s services include routine gynecological care including well woman visits, in office surgeries, minimally invasive surgery, routine obstetrics as well as VBACs, twins, and high risk pregnancies.
