Rachel L. Kurian, M.D.

Rachel L. Kurian, M.D.

Dr. Kurian grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then graduated from Texas A&M College of Medicine with honors, and completed her residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. At Vanderbilt, Dr. Kurian was elected as chief resident, and was voted one of 2004 Berlex Laboratories Best Second year Teaching Residents.

She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, completed in December 2008. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society. She holds a faculty position at Baylor in the residency program, taking an active role in residency training and education.

Dr. Kurian has a special interest in routine and high-risk obstetrics, annual gynecologic exams, abnormal Pap smear evaluations, contraception, and gynecologic surgery. She is certified to perform many in-office procedures, including Essure hysteroscopic tubal ligations, endometrial ablations, and excision procedures for cervical dysplasia. She and her husband are the proud parents to two boys, Noah and Lucas.


Shannon E. McCants, M.D.

Dr. McCants grew up in Kansas City, and then came to Texas for all of her schooling. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She then went across the DFW metroplex to the University of Texas at Southwestern for Medical School. She then began her career at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas as a resident physician in obstetrics and gynecology.

She is board certified for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, She is on the faculty for the resident training program at Baylor University Medical Center, and is committed to education of doctor's in training. She has many awards under her belt from medical school and residency. She is a member of AMA, TMA, Dallas County Medical Society, and a Junior Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

She is proficient in many procedures including office procedures, such as essure, endometrial ablation, and LEEPs, as well as hospital surgeries including advanced laparoscopy, vaginal surgery and urogynecologic procedures. She enjoys contraception counseling and management, basic infertility, and management of abnormal pap smears. She is excited to tackle new pregnancies, both uncomplicated and high risk. In her spare time away from work she adores spending time with her husband and 2 sons.


Joy S. Peveto, M.D.

Dr. Peveto is a Dallas area native, born and raised in Irving, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude. She returned to the DFW metroplex, receiving her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After graduation, she ventured across town for her residency physician training in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

She is board eligible for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and plans to take her oral board exam in 2014. She is a member of the faculty for the obstetrics and gynecology residency training program at Baylor University Medical Center, and is dedicated to physician education. She has accrued many accomplishments and awards throughout her medical school and residency training. She is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, and American Medical Association.

Dr. Peveto is passionate about women's health throughout all phases of a patient's life, from puberty to menopause. She is a skilled minimally invasive surgeon, both in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. She is proficient in many procedures, including in-office procedures such as endometrial ablations, permanent sterilization with Essure, and management of abnormal pap smears. Her surgical skill includes hysterectomy, advanced laparoscopy, vaginal surgery, and urogynecological procedures such as those to treat urinary incontinence. She has a passion for patient education, and enjoys treating patients' gynecological needs, from contraception counseling and management to well-women exams and basic infertility. She enjoys caring for pregnant patients, and is excited to manage both uncomplicated and high-risk pregnancies. In her spare time, she is an avid reader and sports fan, and loves spending time with her husband and daughter.


Ashley W. Tovo, M.D.

Dr. Tovo was raised in Charleston, West Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She obtained her medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Tovo then came to Texas to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

She is board eligible for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, American Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Tovo has many interests in her field, including general obstetrics and gynecology, treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor disorders, basic infertility and high-risk obstetrics. She is proficient in minimally invasive surgery and offers in-office procedures. She lives in Dallas with her husband, Tino, and they welcomed their first child in July 2014. Outside of the office, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.


Sandra Z. Brothers, M.D.

Dr. Brothers grew up in Bend, Oregon, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. She earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences and Biology from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. At graduation, she was commissioned as an Air Force Officer, and was assigned to the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, TX. After performing medical research for 5 years, she resigned her commission as Captain in the U.S. Air Force and moved to Dallas to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Brothers completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She was so enamored by the environment of “evidence-based medicine,” teaching, and patient-friendly care at Baylor that she chose to remain there to pursue private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Brothers has been in private practice for over 16 years at Baylor, providing women of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds with choices and guidance through all of their gynecologic needs. Dr. Brothers prides herself with the ability to walk a patient through treatment options based upon her individuality, from contraceptives for an athlete or an executive, to alternative birthing experiences for women who desire minimal intervention, to management of heavy menstrual cycles. She has assisted many women with infertility issues to achieve the pregnancy they desired. Dr. Brothers is honest, ethical, and genuinely caring.

Dr. Brothers lives in Old East Dallas with her husband, Dr. Michael Holub, in a very old house. They spend the majority of their free time trying to keep up with their 5 children and their various activities, from Boy Scouts and football, to occasional High-Adventure trips including hiking in Big Bend, and Cycle Oregon.

Hillary E. Myears, M.D.

Dr. Myears was raised in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri summa cum laude and then moved to Dallas to attend UT Southwestern for medical school. She fell in love with Dallas and stayed there for her residency at Parkland Hospital. She served as chief resident and won several teaching awards from the medical students and residents. She is board eligible for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Myears loves making personal connections with her patients and looks forward to taking care of women throughout all stages of life, whether it be a well woman exam, a procedure for an abnormal Pap test, management of abnormal bleeding, a high or low risk pregnancy, or the menopausal transition. In her free time, she enjoys running, traveling, snowboarding, and is looking forward to getting married in 2016.
